cocoon is about spreading the electronic music word in all it's different phases and faces. whether it's pumping techno, minimal electro or electronic house, groove is the main key. alongside some of the best names in techno, we are also very proud to be able to share our platform with artists such as pantytec, ricardo villalobos, dirk diggler or steve bug - gems of the innovative german electronic house scene.
this first steve bug mix compilation in the "cocoon mixed sessions" series, shows the diversity of modern house mixed and compiled excellently – the result being an uplifting, groovy, electronic, summery compilation one can't get enough of. steve bug- known as THE minimal tech-house master- crosses the bridges between techno and house with relaxed dignity, showing consequently that less can very often be more. he has developed something of a magical formula, since his debut album "volksworld³ and the compilations "da minimal funk I & II³ (both released on his label raw elements in 1997.)
his electronic house label and follower to raw elements, poker flat recordings, has established itself as the number one source for stripped-down futuristic house music; showing an amazing musical diversity untypical for a young label. featuring other artists such as håkan lidbo (stockholm) or märtini brös ( berlin), poker flat¹s fame spread like wildfire with the eternal clubsmasher "loverboy³ a track everybody fell in love with and at the same time the opener to his solo album "the other day³- which even manages to convince the intellectual strictly-listeners, resonating with seductive laid-back funk, dirty retro basslines and random bleeps, incorporating electro, techno and basic funk into bare house grooves creating moody minimal and deeply seductive music.
steve bug¹s second label- the deep-house oriented "dessous³ shows true commitment to unhurried, late-night, sexy house music and features artists such as vincenzo and gammat 3000.
currently steve is working on his new album to be released on poker flat rec. in autumn 2001.
